Zachariah “Zac” “Ziggy” Claude Ray, age 43, our loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
Zac was born in Flint, Michigan on July 1, 1980, to Kenneth Ray and Sue LaRowe-Nelson. Growing up he enjoyed playing with the neighborhood children, Army, HE-MAN and Masters of the Universe, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He graduated from Vassar High School. He worked with RJ’s Torching as a torch man. Outside of work he enjoyed adventures with his children, nature trips & walks, and cleaning. Further, he was active in his faith and a member of Holiness Missionary Church. Zac loved being a father and will be remembered as the best Dad in the world to his four children and three stepchildren. On June 6, 2023, he married Joanna Rose.
He is survived by his wife, Joanna; parents, Sue (Arnold) LaRowe-Nelson and Kenneth Ray; children: Bradly, Lilly, Izabella, Anastazia; stepchildren: Isabella, Madison, Jaxson; siblings: Lisa LaRowe, John Delbridge, Gabe (Lisa) Ray, Domonick (Lena) Ray, Eric Ray, Tarena Ray, and Crystal Nelson; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Zac’s family will welcome visitors to Hanlin Funeral Home in Vassar on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services for Zac will be at the funeral home at 12 p.m. (NOON) on Thursday, May 2, 2024; visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Donations may be directed to the family in c/o of Zac’s children.
