Mr. Wayne Kenneth Petzold, age 87, a lifelong Millington resident, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family on the farm where he was born and raised.
Wayne was born on March 20, 1937, to Edward & Clara (Lindauer) Petzold. He was raised alongside his five siblings and attended Millington schools. Wayne was a lifelong farmer before retiring in 1994; further he operated Petzold Oil & Gas since 1976. On April 19, 1958, to the former Jeanette Schlosser. Together they shared 60 years of marriage before her passing in 2018. Wayne and Jeanette wintered in Florida for over 30 years. He enjoyed camping, boating, and riding ATVs. Above all, Wayne loved being a Grandpa, “Papa”, and “Pops”, to his grandchildren.
Wayne is survived by his children: Chris (Larry) Jaruzel, Rodney (Marie) Petzold, Debbie Brown, Sue (Keith) Bellah, and Nancy Petzold; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette; son, Brian Petzold, parents, Edward & Clara; and siblings: Clarence Petzold, Donald Petzold, Hilda Schmidt, Ilene Weber, and Harold Petzold.
A Celebration of Wayne’s life will take place from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the Millington Community Center.
