Vassar – Susalene H. Babcock, 84, our faithful, devoted, sociable, and loving sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, entered eternal life on Saturday, May 28th, 2022, at Ascension-St. Mary’s in Saginaw.
Susalene was born in Saginaw on September 12th, 1937, to parents George and Irene (Kinney) Babcock. After graduating high school, Susalene did clerical work for GM for over 30 years and worked in her parish’s store. She was an avid bowler and traveled extensively. Further, she was an active member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish. Above all, Susalene loved spending time with her family and sharing stories.
Surviving are her three sisters and two brother-in-laws, Irene (Dolly) Bauer, Joann and Harry March, Jane and Pete Gawne, all of Vassar; 10 nieces and nephews, Jeff Bauer, Jonie Deland, Ryan Bauer, Jill TerBush, Amy Holland, Mike March, Shawn Bambach, Ann Auernhamer, Jennifer Beyerlein, and Paul Gawne; 24 great nieces and nephews, and 30 great-great nieces and nephews.
Susalene is preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Gordon Bauer, and nephew, Gregory John March.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 20th, 2022, at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish (334 Division St, Vassar, MI 48768). Fr. Christian Taberes will celebrate the mass. Visitation for the public from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. Rite of Committal to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Vassar.
Memorial contributions in Susalene’s name may be directed to the Vassar Food Pantry or St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish.
