Sharon Carreen DeLong, 85, of Vassar, formerly of North Branch, Lapeer, and Wolverine, passed away on March 13, 2025 at McLaren Hospital in Lapeer.
She was born on July 23, 1939, the daughter of Floyd & Virginia (Patrick) Jones. Sharon graduated from North Branch High School, class of 1957.
Sharon proudly served her country as a payroll clerk in the finance department of the United States Air Force while stationed in Texas, Colorado, and Alabama.
She married Howard Eugene DeLong on January 13, 1963 and had 58 happy years together before his passing on July 8, 2021 due to cancer. Sharon was a wildlife artist and displayed her talent at many craft and art shows. She also loved to write children stories for her many nieces and nephews, but most of all she enjoyed time with family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her sisters, Carmen (Len) Crookedacre of Leesburg, FL, and June Gray of Davison, MI; sister-in-law, Sheila Jones of North Branch, MI; nieces, Sheila (Fred) Anstett, Lapeer and Leesburg, FL, Gaylene Turner and Cherrie Reynolds both of Davison, MI; plus many other family members and friends; and her devoted little terrier, Mattie.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother Patrick "PJ" Jones, and nephews Shannon Crookedacre and Gene Gray.
Sharon was cremated as she wished and no services are planned at this time.
