Mrs. Ruby A. Mc Clenathen, a longtime Millington resident, passed from our world into God’s Kingdom Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the age of 91.
Ruby was the daughter of the late Francis & Esther (Meyers) Steele and was born in Defiance, Ohio, on May 17, 1932. Ruby was a graduate of Kearsley High School class of 1950. Ruby married John McClenathen on June 27, 1958 and together they shared 51 years of marriage before John passed away in May of 2009. Ruby retired from the Millington Public Schools after 15 years as a cook. She was a past member of the Millington Church of the Nazarene and on occasion attended the Richfield Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed playing her keyboard and attending potluck dinners while living in Florida and meeting with her retired co-workers at the coffee shop in Millington, reading, doing puzzle books, and spending time with family and friends.
Ruby leaves her eight children: Gloria (George) Rapson, Virginia (Charles) Buchner, Denise (John) Glynn, John (Deneice) McClenathen, Charles Foster, Boyden (Carrie) McClenathen, Virgil (Chris) McClenathen, and Penny McClenathen. She also leaves 25 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, Ruby was also preceded in death by two daughters, Karen Sergent and Rosey Robinson; and a grandson, Matthew Glynn.
On Friday, May 3rd, 2024, at 1:00 pm there will be a graveside service at the Millington Township Cemetery that friends are welcome to attend. There will not be any services at the funeral home.
