Robert A. Schnettler

Robert “Bob” A. Schnettler, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw, MI.

Bob was born in Detroit, MI on February 19, 1938, to parents Arthur & Bernice (Harvey) Schnettler. He was raised and grew up alongside his brothers, Albert, Carl, and Martin. After graduating high school, Bob honorably served in the U.S. Navy. Bob met the former, Barbara A. Gipprich. They dated, fell in love, and were wed on October 14, 1961. Together they shared 61 years of marriage, raising their five children, and making countless memories. He retired from GM truck & bus in 2000 after 38 years of service. He enjoyed many things in life such as traveling, hunting, and time spent in nature. He was passionate about high school football and his love of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. and the number 3 car. Above all, Bob loved his family and time spent with his grandchildren.

Bob is forever loved by his wife, Barb; children: Steven (Judy) Schnettler, Deborah (Terry) Howard, Denise (Scott) Farmer, Diane Schnettler, and Tracey (Todd) Wheeler; grandchildren: Cortney, Samantha, Kasey, Nathan, Nick, Matthew, Andrea, Sean, Erin, and Alyssa; great-grandchildren, William, and Jude; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Bernice, and brothers, Albert, Carl, and Martin.

Bob’s family will welcome visitors to Hanlin Funeral Home – Millington from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023. A celebration of Bob’s life will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
