Randy R. Kern of Vassar, Michigan passed away with family at his side, Friday October 8, 2021, at the age of 62.
Randy was born in Bay City, Michigan on May 1, 1959, and was the son of Norman and Barbara (Kralik) Kern. Randy grew up and graduated from Vassar High School. After high school Randy worked for about ten years with General Motors. Randy enjoyed working with heavy machinery and chose to start Kern's Excavating and Trucking in 1987. On August 9, 1980, Randy married Miss Carol Fabbro and together they have celebrated 41 years of marriage. Randy loved animals, spending time in Houghton Lake, spoiling his grandkids and he could fabricate anything.
Randy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Carol. Two children: Jeremy (Morgan) Kern, Carrie Gilboe, and friend Kevin. Eight grandchildren; Landon Kern, Cheyenne and Sara Burks, Jayden and Braylin Zieroff, Kaitlyn, Mariah, and Carlie Gilboe. Randy was excited for the arrival of his great-granddaughter. His parents; Norman & Barbara Kern, a sister Debra (Ted) Colosky, his dogs Milo and Chloe, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. Randy is preceded in death by his Grandparents, three grandchildren, a son in-law Mickey Gilboe, and a close friend Angie Torres.
Friends are welcome to call at the Hanlin Funeral Home on Monday October 11, 2021, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm to share memories and to celebrate Randy’s life, there will be a brief time for visiting on Tuesday morning from 10: 00 am until the service begin. Funeral services for Randy will be held on Tuesday October 12, 2021, at 11:00 am, at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, Michigan with the burial to follow at the Watrousville Cemetery, in Watrousville, Michigan. Pastor Mc Cloud will officiate. Memorial Gifts of Remembrance for Randy can be directed to the Cass River Pet Friendz, (envelopes will be available at the funeral home).
