Philip J. Nephew of Tuscola Twp. and Vassar, MI passed away early Saturday morning April 8, 2023, at the age of 69.

Philip was born on August 27, 1953, in Saginaw and was the son of the late Jerald Nephew & Ruth (Everts) LaFord & Rex Baxter. Philip was a cabinet maker and a member of the Carpenters Union for many years. On December 1, 1973, Philip married Miss Audrey Woodruff and together they have celebrated 49+ years of marriage.  Philip's pride and joy was family and spending time with the grandkids, hunting and fishing with them.  Philip served as a Scout Master for many years with Troop 215.

Philip leaves his wife Audrey. He also leaves three children; Philip (Mellisa) Nephew, Amy (Jason) Bergman, and Nathan (Christina) Nephew & 10 grandchildren; Alex, Elizabeth, KayleeAnna, Tenleigh, Philip, Douglas, Zoie, Espyn, Liberty, and Maverick.

Besides his wife,  children and grandchildren, Philip leaves four brothers; Shawn, Mick, Jeff, and Danny, four sisters; Sharol, Lexi, Luann, and Karen, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Besides his parents Philip is also preceded in death by two brothers James and Steve.

The family has honored Philip’s request and cremation has taken place. There will be a private family service held later.  If you would like to give a gift in Philip's memory, please consider giving to a charity of your choice.  Hanlin Funeral Home of Millington has been assisting the Nephew family with arrangements.
