Mr. Myron A. Thompson of Vassar, Michigan passed away Friday afternoon February 14, 2020 with his family at his side. Myron was 78.
Myron was the son of the late Alfred and Florence Thompson and was born in Flint, MI on December 9, 1941. Myron retired from General Motors last working at Chevrolet Manufacturing. He was a Master Mason and Past Worshipful Master of Otisville Masonic Lodge #401 and a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Stars, Nourmahal Chapter #282 of Otisville, MI. He was also a long-time member of Arbela United Methodist Church. Myron served in the US Air Force from 1964 to 1967. On July 24, 1965 he married Lois Wolfgram. Theirs’s was a beautiful love story. After Lois passed, he shared a special relationship with Gayle Taylor. Myron was a people person, and never forgot a face. He loved old cars and could pretty much provide the name and year of every type of car he saw pass by. He loved to make people laugh with his jokes. He was a wonderful provider and took great care of his family and friends.
Myron leaves to cherish his memory his family. His children; daughter and son in-law, Robyn (Douglas) Moore, son and daughter in-law, Gary (Lynne) Thompson. Myron’s five grandchildren; Drew (Kate) Thompson, Dylan Thompson, Lynlee Moore, Gavin Moore, and Madison Thompson, and a great granddaughter, Brynn Thompson. Myron leaves his three sisters, Sue Churchill, Merilyn Davenport, and Beth Estep, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family, and his dear friend and girlfriend Gayle Taylor. Besides his parents Myron is preceded in death by his wife Lois and several of his siblings.
The Thompson family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington MI on Tuesday February 18, 2020 from 2:00 until 7:00pm. There will also be a brief time of visitation on Wednesday prior to the funeral beginning at 10:00 am at the Millington United Methodist Church. Funeral services for Myron will be held on Wednesday February 19, 2020 at the Millington United Methodist Church beginning at 11:00 am with the burial to follow at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the Otisville Masonic Lodge, or the Arbela United Methodist Church.
