Verna Alma Keinath of Millington passed away Monday February 14, 2011 while at the Tendercare Nursing Home in Frankenmuth MI, Verna was 89.
Verna A. Ill the daughter of Anton O. & Clara B. (Reinert) Ill was born on October 31, 1921 in Millington where she has been a lifelong resident. During the war she worked for Universal. On April 24, of 1949 Verna married her husband of 49 years Earnest Keinath. Verna was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington where she was baptized and confirmed. She served her Lord and church in many ways, by singing in the Senior Choir, served on the Flower & Plant Committee, Alter Guild, and was a member of the St. Paul Dorcas.
Verna leaves her children; Marlene Wilson & Jack Geisenhaver, Robert & Janette Keinath, Steve & Carol Keinath, Elaine & Mark Burns, Evelyn & Paul Krause, eight grandchildren; Mark Metro, Donna Stange, Michael & Christina Burns, Andy & Cody Krause, John & Joel Keinath, two great grandchildren; Kyle & Cory Stange sisters in-law; Edna Keinath, and Mildred Keinath, also several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral services were be held Thursday February 17 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with the burial that followed at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Pastor James Bruner delivered the funeral message and closing prayers at the cemetery. Memorial Gifts of Remembrance can be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour Ministries.
