Mrs. Phyllis Walker

Phyllis C. Walker of Frankenmuth, Michigan passed away on Saturday June 18, 2016 at the age of 91. She spent her final weeks as a patient at Wellspring Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth, MI.

Phyllis was born on November 19, 1924 in Addison, Michigan to Orin (Doc) and Idyll (Harkness) Sanford. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Alma, MI where she attended public schools. In 1945 she married Donald Walker in Brechenridge, MI. The Walker family moved to Millington in 1960 and in 1966 she moved back to Alma MI wher she gained employment with General Telephone (Verizon) . She retired in the late 1980’s and in 1994 she moved to Frankenmuth to be closer to family and friends.

Phyllis enjoyed to travel and had fond memories of her trips to England, New Orleans, Santa Fe and Hawaii. She also had a soft spot in her heart for animals and loving cared for her cat Sweetie for 17 years until she lost Sweetie last year.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter Sharon Beam of Millington; son Terry Walker and his partner Lanna Keller of Oro Valley, AZ; granddaughter Wendy and her husband Brian Sutherland, their children Ian and Kennedy all of Vassar; granddaughter Kim and her partner Eric Johnson of Puyallup, WA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Janice and a brother Jack.
