Phyllis McPherson passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 while at the Fisher Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mayville MI, Phyllis was 89.
Phyllis was born in Flint, MI on October 6, 1921, the daughter of Clarence (Nate) and Cora (Beckman) Ross. She grew up in Saginaw, moving to Millington while in high school, and graduated from Millington High School. She married Robert McPherson in 1941, Bob preceded Phyllis in death in 2009. Phyllis retired from Franknemuth Bank & Trust (Millington branch) as a loan officer. She also spent many years on the Millington School Board, Millington Library Board, and the Tuscola County ISD Board.
Phyllis is survived by two daughters and son in-laws: JoEllen & Bill Bow and Merry & Jeff Cypher all of Millington. Surviving also are grandchildren: Jared & Michelle Cypher of Lansing MI, Hilary Cypher of Millington, Renee & Jeff Cooper of Lake Chelan WA, and Lisa & Mark Potter of Lake Stevens, WA. And seven great grandchildren: Linzie, Samantha and Quinn Cooper, Lauren and Caden Potter, and Logan and Ryan Cypher. Besides her husband and parents Phyllis is also preceded in death by a son Ross in 2005, a brother Dr. Warren Ross, and a sister Betsy Ross. The McPherson family has honored Phyllis's request and cremation has taken place with her ashes to be interned at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Gifts of remembrance can be directed to the Fisher Senior Patient Care Fund, Millington - Arbela District Library, or the Millington - Arbela Historical Society.
