Mrs. Norma Cook

Mrs. Norma J (Hynse) Cook of Millington, MI passed away suddenly at her Millington home on Tuesday September 5, 2017, Norma was 89.

Norma was born on July 17, 1928 in Wheeler, MI and was the daughter of the late Orville and Lovella (Fowler). Norma married Ervin D. Cook in 1948, and together they celebrated 33 years of marriage before Ervin passed away in November of 1981. Norma loved to walk and could be seen several times in a day walking around Millington; stopping and visiting with people along the way. Quite often Norma cooked and took food to shut-in’s. She often would make special visits to ladies recently widowed; she would take them to lunch, and would look in on them from time to time. If anyone would have asked her what her favorite day of the week was; the answer most like would be Sunday, because Norma loved and enjoyed her Sunday morning in church.

Norma leaves her family to cherish her many memories. Children; Rod and Katie Cook, Jeff Cook, Jack and Teresa Cook, Janice and Scott Hengy, Pat and Sophie, and David Cook. She leaves also; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a brother Claude Hynes who happens to be 99 years young; leaving also nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Besides her husband and parents, Norma is preceded in death by several of her siblings.

The Cook family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Saturday September 9, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Norma will lie in state at the Millington Church of God on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the services begin. Funeral services for Norma will be Sunday September 10, 2017 at the Millington Church of God beginning at 2:00 pm. Burial services will be private. Pastor Greg Capsel will deliver the eulogy and funeral message. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the Millington Church God, or to the Millington Community Center.
