Mrs. Mary O Vernier of Millington, MI passed away early Sunday morning August 20, 2017 while at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in Caro, MI. Mary was 80 years old.
Mary O. (Mulkeran) Vernier was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 14, 1936 and was the daughter of the late James and Joyce (Schram) Mulkeran. On July 11, 1985 Mary married her best friend and the love of her life Allan Vernier. Mary and Allan celebrated 22 years of marriage before Allan passed away in October of 2007. Mary loved sports, sewing, crocheting, and making all kinds of gifts for the family. She made the christening gowns for the great grandchildren. She would always say “you can have anything your little heart desires”. She would often remind the kids to be careful “don’t’ break your neck”, followed by her laugh. She was quick with a joke or a story that when she’d laugh you laughed also; because her laughter was contagious. She loved her afternoon soaps, and being pampered.
Mary leaves her family to cherish her many memories. Her four children; Ralph Brown, Hazel and Doug Briggs, Barbara and Mark Paquette and Scott Vernier. Also, her six grandchildren and their spouses; Doug and Sarah Briggs, Bill and Jennifer Briggs, Kristy and Michael Sherman, Scott and Cindy Briggs, Joe and Cari Paquette, Mary and Tommy Licavoli, Stephan and Anne Paquette, and Quintin Paquette, along with 24 great grandchildren. Mary leaves also; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Besides her parents, and husband, Mary is also preceded in death by a sister Myra in 1996.
The family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Friday Aug.-25-2017 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the services begin. Funeral Services for Mary will be held at 11:00 am Saturday Aug.-26-2017 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, MI.
