Mrs. Marie J. (Grandma Nutt) Kish a long time Millington resident passed from our world into God's Kingdom early Thursday evening August 16, 2012, Marie was 88.
Marie was the daughter of the late Elburn & Ruth (Hills) Nunn, and was born in Flint Michigan on June 24, 1924. On February 17, 1940 Marie married her husband of 33 years Fred Kish; Fred preceded her in death in 1973. Marie retired from the Mason Tackle Company after 50 years of employment. Marie was very active in the community; she was a 30 year volunteer for the Red Cross, being honored with an award of serving 10,000 hours, she served on Big Brothers and Big Sisters for 23 years, Marie volunteered with Genesys Hospice as a patient setter, she was a 30 year volunteer with Genesys Hospital as a volunteer starting originally with St. Josephs Hospital in Flint MI she was also a longtime member and volunteer of the Millington Community Center. Marie also love children and became known as "Grandma Nutt" while helping at the Kirk Middle School in Millington. Marie was also a longtime member of the Millington United Methodist Church.
Marie leaves her son and daughter in-law; George & Iris Kish, grandchildren and spouses; Scott & wife Connie, Brent & wife Andrea, and Deonne & husband Bryan, six great grandchildren, Paxton, McKinnon, Alyse, Alivia, Tyler, and Trevor. Marie leaves also extended family, several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Besides her husband Marie is also preceded in death by a son Fred, also two sisters, Lucille Angel, and Luella Anderson.

Funeral services for Marie were held on Wednesday Aug.-22-2012 at the Hanlin Funeral Home. The burial followed at the Millington Twp. Cemetery; Pastor Paul Amstutz delivered the funeral message and closing prayers.
