Mrs. Margaret Simon

Mrs. Margaret M. Simon (Maggie) of Millington passed away early Thursday morning July 10, 2014 at her Millington residence with family at her side, Margaret was 85.

Margaret was born January 2nd of 1929; she was the daughter of the late Linton & Marion (Dolliver) Atkins and has been a Millington resident for many years. In September of 1948 Margaret married Presley (Ed) Simon; Ed preceded Margaret in death in 2009. Before Ed's passing Margaret and Ed celebrated 61 years of marriage. Margaret was a loving wife, a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her family always came first, and she loved spending time with all of them.

Margaret leaves; her children, Marion & husband Randy Poe, Daniel & wife Yvonne Simon, Alma & husband John Simpkins, Dave & wife Cindy Simon, Linda & husband Ray Benson, Edward & wife Heather Simon, Susan & husband Ken Meharg, and Steve & wife Georgia Simon, 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, also two sisters, Irene Fellows, and Kathleen Verette, as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family. Besides her parents and husband, Margaret is also preceded in death by a son Price in 2013, 3-brothers; George, Donald, and Clare Atkins, 2-sisters, Edith Kennedy, and Marilyn Myers.

Funeral services for Margaret were held on Monday July 14, 2014 the Hanlin Funeral Home with a private burial that followed at the Gunnell Cemetery in Arbela Township. Pastor Brad Long delivered the funeral message.
