Mrs. Luella Saeger

Mrs. Luella M. (Ward) Saeger a lifelong Millington resident passed from our world into God’s Kingdom early Thursday afternoon while at McLaren of Flint. Luella was 90.

Luella was born in Millington, Michigan on April 7, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Harry and Inez (Hunt) Ward. Growing up in Millington she graduated from Millington High School. On January 29, 1945 Luella married Arthur E. (Art) Saeger. Together Art and Luella have celebrated 71 years of marriage. Luella was employed for 20 years with the Millington School System as a lunch room cashier. Luella was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Throughout her life Luella was very active in the community and at church serving on many boards and committees. When someone or an organization needed help Luella was always there to assist them.

Luella leaves to cherish her memory; her husband Art. She leaves also her family; her sons, Dick and wife Marie Saeger, Jim and wife Pat Saeger, her daughters and son in-laws, Linda and husband Jim Dues, Brenda and husband Joe Frahm, Carol and husband Jim Quantrell, and Cindy and husband Lance Morey. Luella leaves also, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A sister, Mrs. Esther Scholl, two brother in-laws and their wives; Rudy and Carol Saeger, and Al and Winn Saeger, she leaves aslo many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Besides her parents Harry and Inez Ward, Luella is also preceded in death by; her in-laws, Richard and Ella Saeger, two brothers; James C. Ward, Bob H. Ward, and a sister Bernice Ward. A sister in-law and her husband; Doris and husband Noah DeOrnellas, brother in-law and his wife Royce and Wynemia Saeger, sister in-law and her husband; Joyce and Erwin Liske.

The Saeger family will receive friends on Sunday Nov. 13, 2016 at the Hanlin Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 8:00pm and for a brief time on Monday from 12:00pm until the services at the church. Funeral service will be held on Monday Nov. 14, 2016 at 1:00pm at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, MI with the burial to follow at the Millington Twp Cemetery. Pastor James Bruner will deliver the funeral message and the closing prayers at the cemetery.
