Laura Viola Rose Camirand (91) of Bay City, Michigan, peacefully entered heaven while holding her husband’s hand on Wednesday afternoon, June 12, 2019.
Laura was the daughter of Norman and Elise(Brown) Rose, born on May 24, 1928 in Bay Port, MI. Laura was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed time with friends and family, especially her husband, Art. Laura loved sharing life’s experiences with so many dear friends, that were extended family to her. Her home was one of hospitality and love. Laura enjoyed being involved in the Bay City Evangelical Free Church, being creative through crafts, and had an amazing gift when it came to knitting. Laura had a love and passion for the ministry of Springhill Camps and Rainbow Lake. Laura’s journey here on earth had heartache and pain yet she found her joy and hope in Jesus Christ. On August 24, 1946, Laura married her sweet, faithful, loving, husband, R. Arthur Camirand (98), and was blessed with 73 years of marriage.
Laura is survived by her husband Art, daughter: Sandi (Camirand) Blossom, grandchildren: Jason and wife Deanna Knipp, Josh and wife Samantha Knipp, Mark Knipp, Steve Knipp, Adrian Ferguson, Michael and wife Sarah Blossom, Laura and husband Ashley Harte, Arin and husband Paul Shupe, great grandchildren: Axel and Cru Knipp, Sage and Levin Camirand, Jordan and Chase Knipp, Malia, Calli, Caden, and Evan Blossom, Brett and Ashlynn Harte, Selah, Luella, and Layla Shupe. As well as many nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lila Berg, brother Arnold Rose, daughter Judy, son Timmy, son Mark, daughter Becky (Camirand) Knipp, son in law Dale Knipp, daughter-in-law Gwen Fox, son in law Mike Blossom, grandson Jeremy Camirand, granddaughter Rachelle Blossom.
Laura’s family has honored her wishes and cremation has taken place. At Laura‘s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to “Springhill Camps” for camper scholarships.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019, at the Evangelical Free Church in Bay City, Michigan. Visitation with family will begin at 10:00 AM with a service at 11:30 at which time services will begin at 11:30.
