Mrs. Kathleen Lieber

Mrs. Kathleen (K.C.) Lieber passed away Sunday November 6, 2011 at her home surrounded by her husband and children. Kathleen was born the eldest of nine children to Joseph and Pauline Hauger(Loeb)of Brainerd, MN. The Hauger family later moved to Vassar, Michigan. Kathleen graduated from Vassar High School. She went on to attend Central Michigan University earning a degree in education. It was during her second year of college that she met Jacob Lieber. They were married on December 27, 1952. Kathleen is survived by her husband of 59 years Jacob Lieber, her children Jacob Lieber (Diane) of Levering, MI, David Lieber (Kellie), Annette Adams, Kathy Bodeis (Tim), Teresa Lieber, Mark Lieber (Diane), Mary Lieber, and Pauline Brooks (Keith) of Bay City, MI. Her oldest son Richard Lieber preceded her in death on April 28, 1985. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kathleen is also survived by her siblings Helen Bohland, Jan Perrault (Robert), Rosemary Jalovaara, Teresa Shinedling (Martin), Joe Hauger (Pat), Susan Underwood, Toni Hartwick (Elwin) and John Hauger (Melody). Her sister Anne Dorner preceded her in death.

Kathleen was an accomplished poet and author. She continued her education at the University of Michigan. Kathleen was involved in education and charity work. Her greatest joy was her large family, her writing and nature.

The memorial mass was celebrated at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayville MI on Saturday Nov. 12, 2011.
