Mrs. June P. (Evans) Rose of Millington, MI passed away suddenly on Sunday January 8, 2017 at her residence in Millington, June was 88.


June was born on June 30, 1928 in Clio, Michigan and was the daughter of the late George and Emma (Hartwell) Evans. On February 23 of 1946 June married Wayne L. Rose, and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage before his passing in 2004.
June leaves her family; Winona & Richard Raquepaw, Andrea Barden, Jean Jensen, Wayne and Donna Rose, Luanne & Ken Pallaske, Norma and Randy Short, and her best friend Tom O’Kelly. June leaves also several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She leaves a sister Maxine Dunkel, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Besides her husband and parents, June is also preceded in death by; a son in-law Russell Schmandt, grandson Billy Barden, a daughter Mary Alice Rose, and several of her siblings.


The Rose family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Monday January 16, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services for June will be on Tuesday January 17, 2017at 11:00 am at the Hanlin Funeral Home. The burial will follow at the Flint Memorial Park Cemetery in Mt. Morris, MI. Gifts of remembrance can be directed to the St. Jude’s Children’s hospital, or to the American Heart Association.
