Mrs. Izora Sergent

Mrs. Izora L. (Tharp) Sergent of Millington, MI passed away late Tuesday evening May 10, 2016 while at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Sagiinaw, MI, Izora was 84

Izora was born in Kiowa, Kansas on December 1, 1931 and was the daughter of the late John and Fay (Hancock) Tharp. On September 5, 1953 Izora married Clyde Sergent, and together they have celebrated 62 years of marriage. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was at one time an active member of the Dorcas Society.

Izora leaves her family to cherish her memory. She is survived by; husband Clyde, children; Shirley and husband Dan Seney, Clyde and wife Dee Sergent, and John and wife Ann Sergent. She leaves also her grandchildren; Chad and wife Teri Seney, Patrick Sergent, Christopher Sergent, Sadie Sergent, and Cole Sergent, three great grandchildren; Cashus Seney, Sophia Izora Seney, Samson Seney, and a sister Lometa Rathgever. Izora also leave nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Besides her parents Izora is also preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

The Segernt family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home on Friday May 13, 2016 from 3:00 until 8:00 pm, and also for a brief time Saturday morning from 10 :00 am until the services begin. Funeral services for Izora will be at 11:00 am Saturday May 14, 2016 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington and the burial will follow at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Pastor James Bruner will deliver the funeral message and the closing prayer at the cemetery. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
