Mrs. Bonnie Seney

Mrs. Bonnie L. (Orr) Seney of Vassar, Michigan passed away Friday August 3, 2018 at the Vassar Field Assistant Living. Bonnie was 87.

Bonnie was born in Tuscola, Michigan on February 16, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Allan and Onilee (Smith) Orr. She was united in marriage to Fraser “Gene” Seney on June 21, 1947, Gene preceded her in death in September of 2006. Bonnie graduated from Vassar High School, and after high school she went on to become an LPN. She then worked for 19 years for Bay Medical Center in Bay City, MI. Bonnie was very involved in the community and held memberships in the VAAS, Vassar Historical Society, Vassar Cork-Pine Quilting Guild, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Vassar. She loved making Memory Bears for people; out of their loved one’s clothing. All of the Seney family believes she made the world’s best apple pie.

Bonnie leaves her family to cherish her memory:  Sharon “Sherry” (Gary) Millerov, Samuel (Debbie) Seney, Scott (Sandy) Seney, Stacey (Tim) Manwell; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She leaves a brother and sister in-law; Allan (Skip) and wife Gloria Orr. Bonnie also leaves nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her husband and parents, Bonnie was also preceded in death by a son Steve in 2014, and a brother Arnold Reichert.

Friends may call at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Monday August 6, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Bonnie will lie in-state at the First Baptist Church of Vassar on Tuesday from 10:00 am until services begin. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Vassar on Tuesday Aug. 7, 2018 at 11:00 am and the burial will follow at the Tuscola Twp. Cemetery. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the American Cancer Society.
