Billie C. (Sweppy) Meiers of Otisville, formerly of Millington, passed away early Sunday morning April 20, 2014 at her Otisville residence, Billie was 84.

Billie was born in Vincenne Indiana on January 10, 1930 and was the daughter of the late William & Pearl (Bickel) Sweppy. On December 24, of 1947 Billie married LaVerne Meier, together she and LaVerne celebrated 39 years of marriage before his passing in 1986. Billie retired from the Carmen-Ainsworth Schools after 20 years working in the schools food services. Billie loved life, she loved spending time with the family hunting, fishing, and just being with them. She loved her flower gardening and grew some beautiful floral gardens.

Billie leaves her sons; Brian & wife Nancy Meier, Ken Meier, 3-grandchildren; Juston & wife Kara Meiers, Bret & wife Becki Meier, and Nathan & wife Kailie Meier, 3-great grandsons; Jordan, Kaleb, and Tommy. Billie leaves also her siblings; sister Betty Knowlton, brother Hank Sweppy, sister Naomi Kennedy, brother Larry Sweppy, and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Besides her husband Billie is also preceded in death by several of her siblings, and her parents.

Service Information

Funeral services for Billie were held at the Millington United Methodist Church on Thursday April 24, 2014. Burial followed at the Sun Set Hills Cemetery in Flint, Michigan. Memorial gifts of remembrance in Billie's memory can be directed to either the Millington-Arbela Twp. District Library, or the American National Orchard Society.
