Beverly Ann (Churcott) Underwood, 74, of Umatilla, Florida formerly of Millington passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 after losing her battle with Alzheimer's. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Beverly is survived by the love of her life, Robert whom she married July 19, 1953 in her home town of Vassar, Michigan. The couple eventually made their home in Millington, Michigan where they raised their three children, Laurie Daniels (Greg), of Osakis, Minnesota, Rob Underwood (Jodi), of Umatilla, Florida and Wendi Underwood, of Tavares, Florida. Throughout their wonderful years she was blessed with seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Beverly also leaves two brothers and a sister in-law; Bill Churcott, and Gary & (Babe) Churcott, as well as several nieces,nephews and other extended family. For the past 25 years Beverly & Bob have made their home in Umatilla, Florida.
Beverly's most cherished accomplishment was becoming a registered nurse in the spring of 1990. Throughout her many years of nursing, she spent several years working with Dr. Maurice Chapin in Millington and after receiving her RN degree she worked with Florida Hospital Home Health and served Lake County with her love of nursing and her special brand of caring and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that gifts of remembrance be given to the Cornerstone Hospice 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, Florida 32778 or Alzheimer's Association, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The funeral Mass was held on Saturday Oct. 1st, 2011 at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar. The burial followed at the Millington Twp. Cemetery.
