Mrs. Betty Sykes

Mrs. Betty Ann (Gere) Sykes of Vassar passed away suddenly early Monday morning September 17, 2012 at the McLaren Central Michigan Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant MI, Betty was 77.

Betty was the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Anderson) Gere, and has been a Vassar resident for many years. In November of 1952 Betty married her husband of 57 years the late Richard (Dick) Sykes. Dick precedes her in death in February of 2009. Betty is also preceded in death by a daughter Judy Weiss, and two brothers Ted & Gene Gere.

Betty leaves her family; Mike & wife Rhonda Sykes, Michelle Kennard, Steve & Rhonda Sykes Scott & Mary Sykes, and David Tammie Sykes, eight grandchildren, 16-great grandchildren, a sister JoAnn Hage, Betty also leaves several nieces, nephews,extended family and many friends.
