Mrs. Awanda Ishmael

Mrs. Awanda M (Haskin) Ishmael of Grand Blanc, MI formerly of Millington, MI passed away early Wednesday morning November 15, 2017 while at Jacobs Ladder Assisted Living in Grand Blanc, MI. Awanda was 95.

Awanda was born in Flint, Michigan on February 2, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Earl and Lela (Glidden) Haskin. Growing up in the Millington area Awanda graduated from Millington High School. She was married to William (Bill) Ishmael, he has preceded her in death. Awanda and Bill along with many other friends in the Millington area started the Millington Bull-Dog Riders.

Awanda leaves her two children; daughter Carmen Tingley, and son John and wife Linda Ishmael. She leaves also four grandchildren; Wendy, Mike, Jerry, and Jacob, several great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Dean and his wife Evelyn Nelson, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Besides her husband, and parents; Awanda is also preceded in death by a grandson Jeffrey, a great grandson Graham, and four brothers.

The Ishmael family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Friday Nov.-17-2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and for a brief time on Saturday from 12:00 pm until the services begin. Funeral services for Awanda will be held on Saturday Nov.-18-2017 at 1:00 pm at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI, the burial will follow at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Pastor Kyle McRill will deliver the funeral message, and closing prayer at the cemetery. Memorial Gifts of Remembrance can be directed to Jacobs Ladder Assisted Living.
