Mr. Rudolph Saeger

October 2, 1937 — February 20, 2017

Mr. Rudolph L. (Rudy) Saeger of Millington, MI passed from our world into God’s Kingdom late Monday afternoon February 20, 2017 while at Maple Woods Manor in Clio, MI. Rudy was 79.


Rudy was born in Swartz Creek, MI on October 2, 1937 and was the son of the late Richard and Ella (Ostic) Saeger. After high school Rudy served our country in the US-Navy, getting out just prior to Vietnam. On April 7, 1956 Rudy married Miss Carol Edwards, and together they have celebrated 60 years of marriage, Carol survives him. Rudy retired from General Motors Fisher Body Division of Grand Blanc, MI and served GM for many years as an electrician. Rudy was also a longtime member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, MI


Besides his wife, Rudy leaves two daughters; Lori and husband Kerry Penland, and Leigh Lawe. He leaves also six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers; Art Saeger, and Al and his wife Winn Saeger, and several nieces, nephews, extended family and his dear friend Joyce Bickel. Besides his parents, Rudy is preceded in death by a daughter Lynn Mohr, two sisters; Joyce Liske, and Doris DeOrnellas and a brother Royce Saeger.


The family has honored Rudy’s wishes and cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Rudy’s life on Saturday March 11, 2017 at the Millington Church of God. The family will greet friends at the Millington Church of God beginning at 11:00 am until the services begin at 3:00 pm If you would like to give a gift in his memory the family has asked that you consider the Ronald McDonald House.
