Mr. Robert (Bob) Rackel

Mr. Robert D. (Bob) Rackel of Millington, Michigan passed away peacefully, at home with his family, early Saturday morning September 8, 2018, Bob was 84.

Bob was born on June 24, 1934 in Flint, Michigan and was the son of the late Alphonzo and Margaret (Waldo) Rackel. Bob lived many years in Burton, Michigan and worked for General Motors at the Fisher Body Grand Blanc Plant. He also owned and operated his business; North Burton Design. He at one time served on the Bentley School Board, and was a current member of FOE of Vassar #2380. Bob served our country by serving in the US-Army Reserves.

Bob leaves to cherish his memory his family. Three daughters; Wendy Bennett, Dawn (Jim) Adkins and Bobbie Pletcher. His five grandchildren; Amy (Tom) Cole, Jennifer (Dan) Snider, Heidi Rackel, Casey Pletcher (Jonathan), Lowell Pletcher (Hannah), great-grandchildren; Madelyn, Natalye, Tycen, Tristan, Layne, Xavier, and Riley. Bob leaves also a nephew George, and a niece Suzie, other extended family, and many friends old and new. Besides his parents Bob is preceded in death by; Audrey (his first wife of 39 years), Mary Lou (his second wife of 11 years), a son-in-law Tim Bennett, and a sister Mary Kiess.

The family has honored Bob’s request and cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Bob’s life on Sunday October 7, 2018 beginning at 3:00 pm. and will be held at the Vassar FOE Lodge. Hanlin Funeral Home has been assisting the Rackel family. There will be no services at the funeral home.
