Raymond Rohn of Vassar passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 after courageously fighting a lengthy illness. Raymond was 77 years old.
Raymond was born August 24, 1935 and was the son of the late William & Linda (Honold) Rohn. He married Katherine Kappel on September 15, 1956. Raymond served in the National Guard. He was employed at S&E in Bridgeport, Dixie Tool in Bridgeport and retired from Fullerton Tool in Saginaw. Also, with great pride, he farmed his parent's farmland for many years. Raymond was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa and we couldn't have asked for anyone better. We loved him and will miss him so much. He has left us with years of happy memories.
Raymond is survived by Katherine his wife of 56 years; his five children:Janet Rohn, Barbara Tereau, Mikel (Kara) Rohn, Donald Rohn (Paula Murdock), and Teresa (John) Malace all of Vassar; his six grandchildren: Holly Malace, Macey, Chase and Ava Rohn, Kylee Murdock, and Chelsae Howe; his beloved companion Brandy; his sisters: Mildred (Ernst) Daenzer, Irma Nuechterlein, Marilyn Zehnder, and Irene Engel, all of Frankenmuth; sisters in-law: Judy Mielke of Munger, Joan (Eugene) Laux of Frankenmuth, Donna Zeilinger of Reese, and Nora (Robert) Matonek of Reese; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. Along with his parents Raymond is preceded in death by his brothers Ed & Bill Rohn; brothers-in-law: Carrol Nuechterlein, Raymond Zehnder, Raymond Engel, Heinz Mielke, and James Zeilinger; sister-in-law: Lynda Rohn; mother and father in-law: Simon & Katherine Kappel. Raymond's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at the Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth. We appreciate so much the excellent care Raymond received. He really enjoyed the activities and outings provided by the Activities Dept. and loved kidding around with the staff or as he called you....his friends. We could have not found a better place to take care of him and we are truly grateful to you. We also wish to thank Heartland Hospice for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
