Mr. Raymond Hunt

Mr. Raymond R. (John) Hunt of Arbela Twp. and Millington, MI passed away early Wednesday morning August 30, 2017 while at the Wellsprings Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth, MI. John was 82

Raymond was the son of the late Roy and Beatrice (Adams) Hunt and was born in Arbela Township, Michigan on December 4, 1934. Raymond or John as everyone knew him by; grew up in the Arbela Township and Millington area. He attended Pinkham school through the 8th grade, then stayed home and worked on the farm. On April 25, 1958 Raymond married Miss Harriet Guthrie; together they celebrated 57 years of marriage before Harriet passed away in October of 2015. Raymond loved to farm, and the simple country life. He enjoyed going to Farm Auctions, engine shows, and a good Flea Market. Raymond loved listing to gospel and polka music, his favorite show on the radio to listen too, was the “Swap Shop”.

Raymond leaves his daughters; Carol and husband Lonnie Kester, and Brenda and husband Paul Price. He leaves also his grandchildren; William Kester, Sarah and husband Nathanael Thayer; a great grandson Evan Thayer. Raymond leaves also three sisters; Beulah and husband Lyle Burns, Margaret and husband Eugene Gray, Hilda and husband James Gray, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Besides his wife and parents; Raymond is also preceded in death by; two brothers, Bill and Paul Hunt, four sisters; Dorothy, Donna, Doris, Luella and an infant son and daughter.

The Hunt family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Tuesday September 5, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. There will a brief time of visiting also on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until the services begin. Funeral services for Raymond will be at 11:00 am Wednesday September 6, 2017 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI with the burial to follow at the Gunnell Cemetery in Arbela Township. Memorial Gifts of Remembrance can be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
