Passed away on January 27, 2011 after a long and courageous battle of cancer. He was born on October 29, 1939 to Freida (Spangler) and Chester VanAlstine. He was married to Barbara Ann (Hillier) VanAlstine for 48 years. He retired from United Airlines after 29 years. He is survived by his wife Barb, son and daughters in-law; Brian and Lynette Van Alstine and Steve and Joelle VanAlstine, grandchildren Blake, Kylie, Jessica, Luke, Josh and Ethan, mother Freida (VanAlstine) Sheridan, sister and brother in-law, Barbara and Gale Miller. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and extended family. Philip was preceded in death by his father Chester VanAlstine and brother Harold VanAlstine.
