Mr. Norman Weiss

Mr. Norman R. Weiss of Millington passed from our world into God’s Kingdom Friday morning April 1, 2016 while at the Medilodge Nursing Home in Frankenmuth, Michigan, Norman was 94.

Norman was born July 11, 1921 in Frankenmuth Michigan, and was the son of the late Jacob and Linda (Ortner) Weiss. Norman was a lifelong member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, for most of his adult life Norman farmed. On June 29, 1947 Norman married Miss Edna Leidel, and together he and Edna celebrated 68 years of marriage before her passing in December of 2015. Norman loved playing cards, telling you one of his many favorite stories, and most of all his passion in life was God, his wife, his family and farming.

Norman leaves his family. Judy and Wally Laux, Kathleen Krey, Shirley and Rev. Bert Thompson, Eugene and Julie Weiss, and Dallas and Glenda Weiss. He leaves also 15 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. He leaves also a brother and sister in-law Marvn and Lorraine Weiss, two sisters; Hildegard Huber, Ellen and husband Henry Bender five sisters in-law; Margaret, Betty, Marion, Loraine, and Esther, as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family. Besides his wife Norman is also preceded in death by his siblings; Selma, Art, Wilbur, Marie, Andy, Vic, and Marion.

The Weiss family will receive friends on Tuesday April 5, 2016 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. There will also be some brief visitation at the St. Paul Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 12:00 until the services begin. Funeral services for Norman will held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday April 6, 2016 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, MI. The burial will follow at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Pastor James Bruner will deliver the funeral message, and the committal prayer services at the cemetery. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
