Mr. Lawrence Calcaterra

Mr. Lawrence F. (Larry) Calcaterra of Millington passed away suddenly early Thursday morning April, 24, 2014 while at the McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, Larry was 73.

Born on August 5, 1940 in Detroit Michigan. Larry was the son of the late Lawrence & Agnes (Fulton) Calcaterra. Larry served our country in between the Korean & Vietnam Wars in the US-Navy. On December 24, of 1971 Larry married his wife of 43 years Sharon. Larry retired from the Pico Manufacturing Company after many years of employment. Larry loved people. He loved spending time with his family and the grand kids. The entire Millington community as many will miss his smile and his wave. When you drove by the house during the warm summer months or the cool fall and spring days. Larry was usually always on the porch, giving everyone his neighborly wave and his big smile.

Larry leaves his wife Sharon, children, Sue Norton, Scott & Rhynaie Mull, Larry & Emily Calcaterra, Dan Calcaterra (Gail) Kathy Guarniere (Mike), Terry Ann Calcaterra (Rod), 13 grandchildren, 4-great-grandchildren, his siblings; Robert & JoAnn Calcaterra, Donna & Bob Blaine, Bev & Jim Thompson, Ken & Sheryl, Calcaterra, Carol & Dave Reasner, 2- aunts Florence, and Dorothy. Larry leaves also several aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family and many, many friends.

The family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Monday April 28, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm. At 7:00 pm there will be a very informal time of sharing, when family and friends will have an opportunity to share a favorite memory. Following services on Monday as per Larry's wishes cremation will follow. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to a charity of one's choice.
