Mr. Harvey Schiefer

Mr. Harvey Schiefer age 93 of Millington, Michigan passed away Saturday June 29, 2019  at his residence.

Harvey was born to Edwin Louise (Warnick) Schiefer on December 15, 1925. On April 18, 1952 Harvey married Bernice Knoll and together they celebrated 67 year of marriage. Harvey served his country in the U.S. Army. Harvey had many hobbies but some of his favorites were picking up and cracking hickory nuts, hoeing the fields, gambling bus trips, feeding grass to cows and he would never turn away a good card game.

Harvey is survived by his wife Bernice, two sons: Thomas and Janice, Daryl and Linda, and one daughter: Joann. He leaves his grandkids: , Micheal and Sarah Schiefer, Matthew Schiefer, Ryan and Ashley Schiefer, Neil Schiefer, Rachel and Dusty Higgins, and Amy Schiefer. He leaves five Great Grandkids: Ella Schiefer, Emil Higgians, Elijah Schiefer, Hayden Schiefer, and Abraham Higgins. Also to cherish his memory is: brother-in-law Hildred Bernthal and one sister-in-law Eva Schiefer, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter: Rhonda Schiefer, brother: Hilbert Schiefer, two sisters: Shirley Bernthal, and Loraine Weiss. Brother-in-laws: Arthur Weiss, Erwin Weber, and Mervin Knoll.

The Schiefer family will have friends gather at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm as well as 10:00am Wednesday morning until funeral begins. The funeral for Harvey will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, MI at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Assisting the family with arrangements is Hanlin Funeral Home.
