Mr. Floyd Brookins

March 18, 1920 — September 29, 2013

Floyd A. Brookins of Millington formerly of the Davison area, passed away late Sunday evening at his Millington residence, Floyd was 93.

Born in Allenton Michigan on March 18, 1920, Floyd was the son of the late Almon & Ella (Harrington) Brookins. Floyd served our country in the US-Army during WW II. He also for 50 years owned and operated his own Masonry brick laying Construction Company finally retiring in 2000.

Floyd leaves his family, three children; son Keith & wife Ellen Brookins, daughters Linda & husband Elmer Creel, and Marilyn Warner, eight grandchildren, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Floyd also leaves a daughter in-law Vickie Brookins, two sisters Eva and Marie, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Besides his parents Floyd is preceded in death by his wife Shirley, a son Randy Brookins in July of 2011, and several of his brothers and sisters.

Service Information

The Brookins family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home on Wednesday Oct. 2, 2013 starting at 11:00 am two hours prior to the funeral services. Funeral services for Floyd will also be on Wednesday at the Hanlin Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 pm. The burial will follow at the Flint Memorial Park Cemetery in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to a charity of ones choice.
