Mr. Earl Koch

Mr. Earl H. Koch a lifelong Millington resident passed from our world into God’s Kingdom early Sunday morning April 10, 2016 while at the Wellspring Lutheran Home. Earl was 91.

Earl was the son of Frank and Clara (Heidt) Koch, and was born in Millington Township on June 30, 1924. He was a graduate of Millington High School, after High School Earl served in the US-Army Air Corp during WW-II. On May 24, 1947 Earl married Miss Joyce Thwing, and together they have celebrated 68 years of marriage. Earl was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he ushered and served as a teller, Earl also served with the Tuscola County 4-H as a leader, he was a past president of the Millington Board of Education, and also for many years drove school bus, he was past president of the Tuscola County Holstein Association, worked at the Marlette, and Cass City Stockyards, drove truck for the Vassar Building Center, worked at Central Shop-Rite in Vassar, he retired from dairy farming of which he did most of his life.

Earl leaves his wife Joyce. He also leaves four children; Larry and wife Jeanne Koch, Lana and husband Ray Schultz, Larna Peterson, and Kerry and wife Elaine Koch. He leaves also 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a sister Frances Fry, a brother Robert Koch. Earl leaves also many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. Earl is also preceded in death by several brothers, sisters and a son in-law W. Paul Peterson.

The Koch family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Thursday April 14, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and also on Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church from 12:00 pm until the services begin. Funeral services for Earl will be held on Friday April 15, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington. The burial will follow at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastor James Bruner will deliver the funeral message and the closing committal prayer at the cemetery. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran Church
