Mr. Donald Ashworth Sr

Donald R. Ashworth Sr. of Millington passed away peacefully at home Sunday December 31, 2011, Don was 75.

Don was born on June 30, 1936 in Sikeston, MO to the late Raymond & Pauline (Abercrombie) Ashworth. He married Geraldine Mann on May 6, 1957.

Don retired from GM in 1986. For many years Don and one of his best friends Orley Voliva trained Golden Gloves Boxers. Don loved attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He enjoyed camping, fishing, casinos and going to Wendy's with Jeri.

Don is survived by his wife Jeri, sons, Dennis (Dena) and Dan (Linda) , daughter In law, Kate grandchildren, Nikki, Amy ( Josh) Stearns and Matt , step grandson TJ (Andrea) Marshall, great grandson Kayden, his mother Shelby and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Jr.

A Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday Jan. 4, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Otisville, Father Eoin Murphy celebrated the mass. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
