Mr. Calvin Ross Lincoln long time Millington resident passed away Tuesday July 5, 2011 while at the Covenant Health Center - Cooper Campus in Saginaw MI, Calvin was 87.
The son of Louis & Elizabeth (Heckert) Calvin was born July 30 1923 and was raised in Belding Michigan. Calvin served our country during WW-II in the 511th Parachute Infantry. During his service to our country he was awarded the Purple Heart, and the Bronze Star. While in the Army Calvin boxed and was recognized as a professional boxer. Calvin was a graduate of the GMI and went on to work 25 years with General Motors as a Tool & Die Maker for the Ternsted Plant in Grand Blanc MI. Throughout life and after retiring Calvin loved working on his hobby farm. He also loved to share his stories of his time serving our country during the war, of which he was very proud. Calvin was also a Democratic Delgate for the Tuscola County Democratic Party, and served on the Arbela Twp. Planning Commission.
Calvin leaves his wife of 60 years Dorothy (June) Lincoln, two children; Keith & Felicia Lincoln, Elizabeth & Lee Gahagan, grandchildren; Christine Lincoln, Mike Lincoln, Adam & wife Kayla Gahagan, Lisa Gahagan, great-grandchildren, Nasir Jenkins, Terrance Lincoln, Elijah Gahagan, step-brothers, Dick & David Wright, and half brother Mike Lincoln, as well several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Besides his parents, Clavin is preceded in death by a brother Alfred Lincoln, half brother Ronald Lincoln, step-mother Mrs. Esther Lincoln, and a step-sister Geraldine Hall. The Lincoln family and friends gathered at the Hanlin Funeral Home on Monday July 11, 2001 for celebration of Calvin's life. The family has honored his wish and cremation has taken place.
