Miss VanWagoner

Miss Ruth H. VanWagoner formerly of the Wayne & Westland area's passed away early Wednesday morning Dec.-11-2013 at the Welcome Home Assisted Living Home in Owosso Michigan, Ruth was 95.

Ruth was born in Millington Michigan on the family homestead on October 25, 1918 Ruth was the daughter of the late Ceary & Laura (Walker) VanWagoner. Ruth was the last of 9 children in her family, all of her brothers and sisters precede her in death. Ruth dedicated her life to education and held a Master's Degree in education, and retired in 1986 from the Wayne - Westland Public Schools after 47 years of teaching. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Wayne & Westland MI. She also served many years on the Board of Directors of the Wayne & Westland Community Credit Union.

Ruth leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Saturday December 14, 2013 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington MI. Pastor Greg Capsel delivered a brief funeral message and eulogy. A private burial followed at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Ruth also lied in state at the First United Methodist Church in Wayne MI on Friday December 13 2013.
