Mary Jane Kennard

Mrs. Mary Jane (Fischer) Kennard of Vassar, Michigan passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, at the age of 83.

Mary Jane was born on April 9, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Peter & Edna (Germain) Fischer. On June 22, 1957, she married Kenneth D. Kennard, and together they celebrated 52 years of marriage before Kenneth passed away in August of 2009.  Mary Jane’s pride and joy in her life was her family.

Mary Jane leaves to cherish her memory her family. Three sons and a daughter in-law: Kevin Kennard, Kyle Kennard, and Kirk (Lynette) Kennard; grandchildren, Karen Kennard, Samuel Kennard, Katelynn (Ron) Mallory, Kimberlee (Jon) Ward, Amanda (Joshua) Brown, Daniel Kennard (Jen Brinkman), Evan Kennard (Adyson Bryce); great-grandchildren Emma Brown and baby Mallory to be. She also leaves a special Niece Linda (Cecil) Strickler, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Besides her husband and parents, Mary Jane was also preceded in death by her son, Kenneth John (Johny) Kennard.

Friends may call at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Vassar, MI (1148 W. Saginaw Rd) on Wednesday (Nov. 29, 2023) where the family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until services begin. Funeral services for Mary Jane will be held also on Wednesday (Nov-29-2023) beginning at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.  Following services cremation will take place with private urn burial later.  If one wishes to give a gift in Mary Jane’s memory, you’re welcome to use a charity of your choice.
