Mrs. Marlene E. (Cook) Johnson of Vassar, MI passed away Friday February 23, 2018 while at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in Caro, MI. Marlene was 86.
Marlene was born in Pontiac, Michigan on August 13, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Oliver D and Dorothy E. (Lighthall) Cook-Batrow. She was married for several years to her late husband Jonathan Johnson who has preceded her in death.
Marlene leaves her family. Daughter in-law; Marsha Jobson, son Dave and Kathy Johnson, son in-law Joe Smith, daughter Goldie and Dave Losey, son in-law Bob Morse, daughter Juanita (Johnson) Worden, son Sam Johnson, and son Mark and Stacie Johnson. Marlene leaves also many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She leaves two sisters; Ruthann Minto, and Katie Drawdy, two brothers; Willard (Bill) and Roy Cook and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Besides her parents, and husband; Marlene is also preceded in death by; a son John Jobson, two daughters, Laurie, and Dorothy, two brothers Chuck and Dave Cook, two sisters, Dorothy and Ina, and a great-grandson, Gabriel Braden.
Marlene’s family will receive friends for a time of sharing and visiting at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Thursday March 1, 2018 from 2:00pm until 7:00 pm and for a brief time on Friday from 12:00 pm until the services begin. Funeral services for Marlene will be held Friday March 2, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI. The burial will follow at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Pastor Tony Jacobs will deliver the eulogy and the committal prayer at the cemetery. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
