Marion A Walz passed from our world into God’s Kingdom early Thursday morning April 26, 2018 while at the Wellspring -Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth, MI. Marion was 86
Marion A. Mossner was born on October 24, 1931 on the family farm located on Hart Road in Richville, MI. and was the daughter of the late Harold and Lydia (Maurer) Mossner. She grew up in a German household with her three siblings; Earl, Ralph and Ruth. She attended Lutheran school in Richville, MI and then attended Arthur Hill high school in Saginaw. After graduation, Marion attended Saginaw General School of Nursing for 3 years. She then worked at Saginaw General Hospital for 3 years and as a county nurse. Marion then enrolled in the Michigan State University School of nursing and graduated in 1964. On April 4, 1964 Marion married Lloyd Walz and she and Lloyd have celebrated 54 years of marriage. After marriage, Marion worked on the family dairy farm until retiring in 2008. Marion and Lloyd were blessed with three children; David, Paul and John.
Marion was involved in various activities such as Saginaw General Nurse Alumni, Holstein Association, Michigan Milk Association, Walz Dairy Farm, Square Dance Club, Farm Bureau, and Michigan State Alumni. Marion is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, MI. Marion has a collection of antique glass ware, and antique farm tractors. She has traveled to Florida, Arizona, California, Alaska, Washington DC, England, Canada, Alabama, Texas, and Hawaii. Her favorite television shows include Price is Right, Judge Judy, and RFD television. She also enjoys watching the Tigers, Lions, and MSU sports. Marion’s favorite memories are of naming and registering Holstein cattle and her three-mile walks. She will be remembered as a great wife, mother, and mate.
Marion leaves her husband Lloyd. She leaves also three sons; David, Paul (Heather) Walz, and John (Cary) Walz, she leaves also seven grandchildren and a sister Ruth Engelhardt. Marion also leaves several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her parents Marion is also preceded in death two brothers; Earl and Ralph Mossner.
The Walz family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home on Sunday April 29, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Marion will lie in state at the St. Paul Lutheran Church on Monday from 10:00 am until the services begin. Funeral services for Marion will be held on Monday April 30, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, MI. Pastor James Bruner will deliver the funeral message, and the closing prayer at the cemetery. The burial will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Vassar, MI
