Marian E. Gugel

Mrs. Marian E. Gugel, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Vassar Comfort Care. Private arrangements have been made. Those desiring may direct donations to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church (3455 S. Van Buren Rd. Richville, MI 48757) or a charity of one’s choice.

Marian was born on March 22, 1937 in Richville, MI the daughter of Edward & Elsie (Beyerlein) Miller. She was a graduate of Vassar High School, class of 1955 and worked as a cashier and cook for St. Michael’s Lutheran School since 1977, retiring in 1999. Marian wed Arthur Gugel on June 30, 1956 and together they shared 54 years of marriage before his passing in 2010.

Marian was a church volunteer with St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, she enjoyed gardening and working outside, playing cards and spending time with family and she really enjoyed being a grandmother to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam (Robert) Hahn; son, Kenneth (Colleen) Gugel; grandchildren: Heather, Brady, Connor, and Griffin.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents; brother and sister-in-law, John and Sheryl Miller; and special friend, Carol Riddle.
