Mae Adeline Hoss

Mae Adeline Hoss, age 95, entered into Heaven on Tuesday, January 17^th, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services for Mae will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 22^nd, 2023, at Hanlin Funeral Home – Millington; visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and last until the time of service. Interment private at Millington Twp. Cemetery.

Mae Adeline Entwistle was born in Chicago, IL, on November 23^rd, 1927, the only child of parents William & Adeline (Helland) Entwistle. She was raised in Port Huron and earned her nursing degree from Hurley Hospital in Flint. A lifelong nurse in clinical and private settings, she travelled often and cared for many patients. Mae married William Hoss on December 12^th, 1944, in Oklahoma, and together they raised their four children. Outside of nursing, Mae enjoyed crocheting, was a talented crafter, an avid gardener, and was a great cook. She was fond of animals and kept many around her home. Further, Mae was devout in her faith and an active member in her church congregation, Millington Church of the Nazarene; often coordinating and cooking the church luncheons and dinners. Above all, Mae was devoted to and loved her family.

Mae is forever loved by her daughters, Mae Blanchard and Yona Reed; grandchildren: Tonya (Danny), Teresa, Christine (Tom), Jimmy, Shanna, Sarah (William), Jason, and Jeff; several great-grandchildren; extended family; and special friends, Carol Mitchell and Robert Baker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Hoss; son, William “Bud” Hoss II; daughter, Susanna “Sue” Hoss; and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mae’s name may be directed to Paradise Animal Rescue – Lapeer.
