Lloyd F. Walz

Lloyd F. Walz passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Vassar Comfort Care.

Born on March 17, 1930, in Vassar, Michigan, the only child to the late Fred & the late Alma Walz, Lloyd was raised on the family farm and graduated from Vassar High School. On April 4, 1964, Lloyd married the love of his life, Marion A. Mossner. Together they raised their three sons, shared countless memories, and celebrated 54 years of marriage before Marion’s passing in 2018. Lloyd was dedicated and passionate about his lifelong career as a dairy farmer. He also committed his time to several organizations such as Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA), Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA), and Two-Cylinder Club.  Also, Lloyd enjoyed working on his two-cylinder John Deere tractors. Further, Lloyd was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington.

Lloyd is survived by his three sons: David (Tammy) Walz, Paul (Heather) Walz, and John (Cary) Walz; seven grandchildren: Allison, Ashlee, Jacob, Madison, Katie, Eli, Ari; as well as extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marion A. Walz.

The Walz family will welcome visitors to Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services for Lloyd will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church (4941 Center St, Millington, MI 48746) on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 2 p.m.; Lloyd will lie in state from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Rev. Jim Bruner will preside. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery in Vassar.

Donations may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
