Linda Rohde

January 6, 1927 — May 4, 2023

Millington

Linda (Weber) Rohde, age 96, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered peacefully into her Heavenly home on May 4th, 2023.

Linda was born on January 6th, 1927, in Millington, the oldest daughter of Alvin & Ida (Petzold) Weber. She was baptized on January 16th, 1927, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Millington where she continued as a lifelong member. Linda met the love of her life, Richard Rohde, through a mutual friend while working as an LPN at Alpena General Hospital. They were married on September 25th, 1948, and were blessed with 66 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in December of 2014. Together they raised their three children: Faith (the late Clayton) Damm, Alan (Sally) Rohde, and Barbara (Scott) Bassett.

Linda was a Stephen Minister and a member of St. Paul Dorcas, Altar Guild, and Church Choir. She was also active doing Memorials, was a Sunday School teacher, and embroidered crosses on baptismal cloths for many years. She also worked for many years at Weber’s IGA and occasionally helped at the family business, Rohde Sales and Service. Linda loved baking wonderful cinnamon rolls, butterhorns, and orange bowknots, a couple of her family’s favorites. She also enjoyed sewing and sewed both of her daughters’ wedding dresses as well as her own. Above all, Linda was deeply devoted to her family.

Besides her loving husband, Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arthur (Ilene) Weber, and Erwin Weber, an infant brother and son-in-law, Clayton Damm.

She will be forever loved by her adult children: Faith Damm, Alan (Sally) Rohde, and Barb (Scott) Bassett; grandchildren: Suzanne (Charlie) Brown, Stacie (Daniel) Middleton, Jeff (Brittni) Rohde, and Bryan (Michelle) Bassett, Derek (Christina) Bassett, and Brett (Amberle) Bassett; great-grandchildren: Erin Kelley, Daxton and Elise Brown, Quinn, Brady and Cohen Middleton, Ava and Alina Rohde, Joseph and William Bassett, and Evelyn Dueñas (Bassett); sisters, Ruth Schiefer, and Flora Weber; sister-in-law, Loretta Weber; and several nieces and nephews.

Linda’s family will welcome guests to Hanlin Funeral Home – Millington from 2 to 7 pm on Sunday, May 7th, 2023, and at St. Paul Lutheran Church (4941 Center St, Millington, MI 48746) from noon until the time of Linda’s 1 pm funeral service on Monday, May 8th, 2023. Immediately following, Linda will be laid to rest next to her husband, Richard, in Millington Twp. Cemetery.

Those desiring, may direct donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church, or charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank Wellspring and Promedica Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion throughout her stay.
