Leo Allard

August 24, 1934 — February 19, 2021

ALLARD, Leo Joseph - Age 86, of Millington, died Friday, February 19th surrounded by his loved ones at home. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Hanlin Funeral Home with Father Christian Tabares officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Leo was born in Grand Rapids, MI on August 24, 1934 to Adolphus & Barbara (Rapp) Allard. He grew up in Charlevoix, MI and enlisted upon graduation. Leo was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.  After 4 years of service, he met the love of his life, Jeanette Mossner. Leo and Jeanette were married on February 7th, 1959 and recently celebrated 62 years of love. Leo retired after 35 years at General Motors Chevy in the hole.  He and Jeanette were active Milington athletic boosters for many years.  Every Friday night in the fall, you could find them in the stands, cheering on their beloved Cardinal football team.  Leo loved golfing, camping, spending time with his family and was an avid fan of University of Michigan sports - Go Blue!  He will always be remembered for his cherished stories, pearls of wisdom and brilliant sense of humor.

Leo is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanette; children, Janet (Jerry) Love, Jean (Michael Kurtz) Allard, Joan (Dave Gibson) Millington; John (Diana) Allard.  His grandchildren, Jeremy Love, Jackie (Thor) Sabgash, Rachele (Keith) Hazel, Brandon (Samantha Simpson) Skank, William (Rachel) Millington, Danielle (Aaron) Thygesen, Bradley Skank, Caleb Allard, Jani (Neil Olds) Millington, Carlee Allard and Cassie (Dominic Wendell) Allard; 11 great grandchildren: Brock, Wyatt, Ellison, Delilah, Bentley, Violet, Callie, Olivia, Luke, William & Carter; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Ascension Hospice Caretakers, Patty Jacobi and Reverend Christian Tabares.

Leo was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara (Allard) Skeel; his brother, Adolphus (Fritz) Allard and his son in law, Bill Millington.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Allard family for a future scholarship fund to the Millington Athletics department.
