Kay Keinath, 69, of Vassar, went to be with our eternal Lord September 13, 2019. She was born on May 8, 1950 to Max and Phyllis (Nickel) Van Petten. She married John Hecht on September 25, 1971. After his passing, she married Ronald Keinath on February 6, 1976. She worked as a book keeper early in her career. After obtaining a teaching degree from SVSU, she was a teacher at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Millington for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing and crafting.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jeff (Lori) Hecht, Janel (Eric) Woodward, & Ronda (Jeff) Weiss; grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, & Noah Hecht; Alexis, Jared, Levi, & Nolan Woodward; Jillian (Dylan) Zbytowski; Ethan & Kaitlyn Weiss; great grandchild, Grace Zbytowski; sisters and brothers, Sue (Jess) Keyes, Lee Van Petten, Jill Van Petten, Wes (Stephanie) Van Petten, & Marc Van Petten,
She was predeceased by her parents, both husbands, and her brother, Kenneth Van Petten.
Special thanks to Elaine Keinath, Sue & Jess Keyes, Jan Kribs, and Lillian Sergent for the excellent care and support they provided for the family during the last couple months of Kay’s life.
The family will receive friends at Hanlin Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00 – 7:00 pm and Tuesday at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville from 10:00 am until the service. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville with the burial at St. Michael’s cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Paul’s or St. Michael’s.
