Karen (Bush) Schnettler of Millington, MI passed away peacefully early Saturday evening June 10, 2023, at the age of 80.
Karen was the daughter of the late Floyd & Helen (Henderson) Bush and was born in Flint, Michigan on June 11, 1942. Growing up in Millington, Karen graduated from Millington High School Class of 1960. On September 29, 1962, she married Carl Schnettler, and together they celebrated 22 years of marriage before Carl passed away in 1984. Karen later in life moved to Vassar where she worked for 25 years as a salesclerk with Atkins Hardware & Furniture in Vassar, Michigan.
Karen leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Kirk) Atkins; grandsons, Joshua Atkins, Tyler Atkins, and Ryan Schnettler; granddaughter, Melissa McIntyre; great-grandchildren, Finn McIntyre, and Abigail McIntyre. She also leaves her siblings: Dennis Bush, Roger (Sue) Bush, Rich (Julie) Bush, and Greg (Ellen) Bush; brother-in-law, Bob (Barb) Schnettler; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Beside her husband, Karen is also preceded in death by two daughters, Lori & Shari Schnettler; sister, Sally Heidger; sister-in-law, Peggy Bush; and parents, Helen & Floyd Bush.
Karen’s family will welcome guests to Hanlin Funeral Home – Millington (4823 Main St, Millington, MI 48746) from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023. Karen’s celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church – Vassar (250 W Huron Ave, Vassar, MI 48768); visitation at church beginning at 10 a.m. and lasting until the time of service.
