Karen L. Henderson

Karen Lucille (Schwab) Henderson, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at home in the care of her loving family.

Karen was born in Saginaw on February 24, 1946, to parents Victor & Lucille (Barnes) Schwab. She was one of eight children and graduated from Millington High School. She met the love of her life, James “Jim” Henderson, and they were united in marriage on October 1, 1966. Together they shared 56 years of marriage and raised their children Jim & Tammy. She retired from Central Shop-Rite in Vassar after 20 years of service. Karen was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington. Above all, Karen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Jim (Jodi) Henderson; daughter, Tammy Henderson; grandchildren: Raeann, Cameron, Trenton, Bradyn, Gavin, and Jackson; great-granddaughter, Aubrie; brother, David Schwab; sister, Elanore “Norie” Ayotte; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Victor Schwab II and Robert “Bob” Schwab; sisters, Patricia Betts, Betty Mills, and Donna Kirby.

Karen’s family will welcome guests to Hanlin Funeral Home – Millington from 2-7 pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Millington (4941 Center Street, Millington, MI 48746); with additional visitation beginning at 12 pm and lasting until the time of service. Interment to follow in Millington Twp. Cemetery.
